Technical Due Diligence for a food startup
The client, a leading digital consultancy, assigned us with the technical examination of a food startup. On behalf of the buyer, niologic examined patents and intellectual property of the technical solutions.
Challenge
In several steps, niologic first checked the IT architecture, IT development processes, IT security, IT roadmap as well as development teams. In a further step, the software architecture and the software platform of the online shop and the ERP system were examined.
niologic paid particular attention to IT security as well as active and passive security measures on the network side to prevent manipulation of the ordering and production process.
Production facilities were connected to the ERP system and custom-made products. The startup’s intellectual property was checked based on technical drawings and the software implementation. In addition, plans for an expansion of the overall system were checked for plausibility based on theses on the parallelization of the production process and throughput.
The personnel and technical possibilities of the development team were intensively examined in order to determine the proportion of external to in-house development. The team’s ability to scale with the IT roadmap and the start-up business plan behind it was also reviewed.
